Gonzaga‘s effort to reload got a big boost this weekend with the commitment of point guard Nolan Hickman, who had previously pledged to play for the Kentucky Wildcats.
A four-star recruit out of Mount Pleasant, Utah, Hickman gives the Bulldogs a replacement for Jalen Suggs, who declared for the 2021 NBA Draft after a brilliant freshman season.
The Bulldogs are looking to revamp a roster that went 31-1 last season, the only blemish being the 86-70 loss to Baylor in the national championship game. The Bulldogs also need to replace guard Joel Ayayi, who is bypassing his senior season to enter the draft, and small forward Corey Kispert, who is set to graduate.

Hickman joins Minnesota high school All-American Chet Holmgren, the #1 recruit in the Class of 2021, and five-star combo guard Hunter Sallis from Omaha, Neb., who had already given the Bulldogs one of the top recruiting classes in the nation.
A 7-foot-1 center, Holmgren led Minnehaha Academy in Minneapolis to the Class 3A boys’ state championship as a senior.
